In late July an increased sign-up bonus returned on the Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite™ Mastercard®. This is American’s premium co-branded Citi credit card, which has a $450 annual fee. We knew from the beginning that the offer was only available for a limited time, though we didn’t have any sense of how long the offer would last.

While I don’t personally know when the offer is ending, the front page of American’s website indicates that it’s the “final call” for the limited time sign-up bonus on the Citi Executive AAdvantage Card. A lot of people have asked me if there’s any rush to apply for the card, and I’ve said no up until now, since I had no indication of when the offer would be ending. While I still don’t know when it will be pulled, if you’ve been eying this card, I’d certainly recommend applying sooner rather than later, as it seems like it could be pulled soon.

As a reminder, the card is offering a sign-up bonus of 75,000 American AAdvantage bonus miles after spending $7,500 within three months, which is a huge bonus.

However, the real great perk of this card is the lounge access it offers. Those who are primary cardmembers on the Citi AAdvantage Executive Card get an Admirals Club membership that allows you to always take two guests or immediate family members into the lounge with you. On top of that, you can add up to 10 additional authorized users to the card at no extra cost, and they get Admirals Club access as well. They can also each take two guests, meaning you’re potentially looking at 11 people being able to take two guests each into the lounge. That’s incredible.

As a point of comparison, here’s the cost of buying an Admirals Club membership in cash:

As you can see, the absolute cheapest Admirals Club membership cost for Executive Platinum members is $450, which is the same as the annual fee on the Citi AAdvantage Executive Card. So almost everyone will come out ahead with getting the card instead, especially when you consider that you’re also getting lounge access for up to 10 others. Put another way, it’s like paying as little as $45 per person annually for Admirals Club access.

As a reminder, you’re potentially eligible for the bonus on the card even if you’ve had it in the past. The relevant part of the terms reads as follows:

American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles are not available if you have had any Citi® / AAdvantage®card (other than a CitiBusiness® / AAdvantage® card) opened or closed in the past 24 months.

If you don’t yet have the Citi AAdvantage Executive Card but value Admirals Club membership, this is the card to get.
