The Frequent Traveler University events provide an opportunity for miles and points enthusiasts to spend a weekend diving in to the nitty-gritty details of various programs and opportunities, meeting people with shared interests, and generally geeking out over travel.

They’re fun events, and I’ve enjoyed presenting and socializing at several of them over the past few years (and I say that as someone who generally dislikes socializing).

The next Frequent Traveler University will take place June 9th-11th in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Stefan at Rapid Travel Chai has taken over the event schedule, and has done a fantastic job of mixing the nitty-gritty of miles and points with some broader travel topics.

So in addition to Stefan, Greg, Matthew, and I talking about how to maximize miles and points opportunities, there will be some niche sessions from local experts. Beyond that, Gary Arndt and Rudy Maxa will both be sharing their experiences and travel expertise.

I’m really pleased with the diversity of content, and think it will lead to a great event.

Frequent Traveler University generally starts with a cocktail reception on Friday nights, and then features two full days of sessions and socializing.

There are two ticket options available for the Minneapolis FTU:

  • $149 for Saturday-only
  • $249 for an all-access weekend pass, including the Friday cocktail reception

You can also join Stefan for an optional pre-event outing at the NWA (Northwest Airlines) History Centre on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 3 pm. The museum director and volunteer docents will introduce their collection and share NWA stories. Attendance is open to all FTU Minneapolis attendees.

One Mile at a Time readers receive $20 off the weekend pass when using the code OMAATMSP, so if you’ve been thinking of attending but haven’t purchased tickets yet be sure to take advantage of that.

The host hotel is the Marriott Minneapolis Airport (near to Mall of America, so convenient if you want to bring the family along as well), which is offering a $105 per night group rate for single/double occupancy.

Looking forward to (hopefully) seeing many of you there!
